Keep Moving Forward

This winter has been rough. Tons of snow and untreated sidewalks have resulted in black ice patches everywhere making it scary to go running outside.

vaccine in January 2021.
Two weeks ago, I got the second dose of the Moderna vaccine which means that now I'm at that peek immunity. Before you ask, I'm still going to wear my mask and social distance. However, now I feel a little safer going back to some indoor activities. This includes the fitness center at my condo's complex. Before Covid, it was never really crowded. Maybe two or three people at most in a space the size of a one bedroom condo without the separating walls between the rooms. Even so, I've been scared to go back and exercise indoors because obviously I breathe harder when running and with my asthma and such.

So here's the plan. I'm going to give it a few more days to make sure I'm well past that two weeks since the number is just educated guess of when the vaccine is fully effective. This weekend, I'm going to go into the fitness center and use the treadmill. We'll see how it goes in terms of my stress of being indoors, crowds, etc. From there, I'll consider a plan of what to do between now and when the weather gets nicer for outdoor runs.

Meanwhile, NYC Marathon and American Cancer Society have not provided more information yet regarding the 2021 marathon. I'll keep you posted when I know what's going on. Still, please consider making a donation towards my American Cancer Society fundraiser. The goal is $3500 and needs to be met about three months before the marathon once a date is set.
