I Bought a Light Vest

Last night I went running with Manayunk Running Club starting at Philadelphia Runner on Main Street. It was a fun run and after a group went to Lucky's Last Change, a local bar. I noticed most of the people had reflective vests, light vests, and other "see me" type of clothing. I felt a little under dressed in terms of safety. I had two flashing bracelets.

When I went home, I looked on Amazon at the different options and ended up purchasing two things.

1. A belt with an over the shoulder strap that has a headlight on the front and a blinking red light on the back. The entire strap is reflective material.

2. A Safety Adjustable Safety High Visibility Reflective Stripe Jacket Night Run from wish.com which was under $3 with shipping. I figured for that price, I might as well get it. Plus, I ordered it first before picking out an option with the lights.

I know it sounds kind of crazy, but I like the light belt's design better than the glowing vest because I think the light will not only make me visible to other people and cars but also provide me with light to see if there are any hazards ahead of me like a pothole in the sidewalk. The Amazon page says the battery lasts 2+ hours and I don't plan on doing early morning or night runs longer than an hour. My long runs will be during the light and on weekends.
