So after recovering from a bad sinus infection, I'm now going to have to take more time off from my training for the marathon. Unfortunately one of my wisdom teeth decided to crack in half. I have been in pain for a few days and luckily an oral surgeon was able to get me scheduled for extraction. Originally they told me November but called with a cancellation.
This is going to put a huge strain on my training but it is a necessary procedure. Friday morning I am having two of my four wisdom teeth extracted.
According to the "what to expect" packets that I was provided during the consultation I will not be able to do physical activity for 48 hours following the procedure. On top of that, I will need to be careful because they will be using dissolving stitches that can take up to 5 weeks. During this time I am not supposed to use straws which causes an issue for training since my water pack is obviously a straw. From what was described the suction can cause issues with the natural healing.
Once I can do physical activity, I'll take it slow. Maybe walking but at least something. I'm not worried about finishing the marathon fast, I just want to cross the finish line. So building up my stamina and mileage is more important than speed. At least to me.
