Training while sick?

I've obviously been sick before but this week is bad. Yesterday while running, I felt a little nauseous and got lightheaded. I assumed (incorrectly) that it was the new nutrition gel I tried. As the day went on, I felt worse.

Today, I called my doctor and described how I felt starting with the run into today and they sent me for a Covid test. I'm congested, coughing, and just feeling tired. Hopefully it comes back negative but either way I need to wait before continuing to train.

So the big question... how will I recover? How will I catch up with my training when there's only ten weeks left until NYC?

Update: Covid test results were negative. I've never been so happy to have a sinus infection.

#TeamUltra is Sending Me to NYC

While I already have my bib for NYC through American Cancer Society, this week I won a Twitter contest though Michelob Ultra. That's right. I won a contest to be part of #TeamUltra at the TCS NYC Marathon 2021. This means I will get to experience the marathon in style.

The prize includes transportation, hotel, and meals. Plus, some really awesome #TeamUltra swag. I won a different contest last year and got some exercise gear which I wear all the time because it's comfortable and fits well. Now I'll get more of it.

I will still be dedicating my miles to fundraise for American Cancer Society but now I'll get some extra perks during the weekend. Woot!
